Burdur Governor Tülay Baydar Bilgihan, after starting her duty on September 19, 2024, with the Presidential decree, paid a courtesy visit to Burdur Mehmet Akif Ersoy University (MAKÜ) Rector Prof. Dr. Hüseyin Dalgar. During the visit, Governor Bilgihan received comprehensive information from Rector Dalgar about the projects and strategic studies conducted by the university and conducted a campus tour at MAKÜ İstiklal Campus, examining various units of the university on-site.
First, Governor Bilgihan visited the library opened in the name of July 15 Martyr Prof. Dr. İlhan Varank, received information about the library's operation, and chatted with students studying there, listening to their views and expectations. Then, visiting the ÜNİPARK Shopping Center, Bilgihan received information from Rector Dalgar about the facilities for students' social living areas.
Continuing the visit, Governor Bilgihan proceeded to MAKÜ İstiklal Stadium and had the opportunity to examine footballs produced by Burdur women using traditional methods and craftsmanship on-site. Finally, to closely observe the university's work in agriculture and livestock, Governor Bilgihan visited the Cattle, Sheep, and Buffalo farms and the Milk Processing Center, receiving information about the practices at the farm and production center, and consulted with Rector Dalgar and center officials about the projects contributing to regional agriculture and livestock by MAKÜ.
